It's great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.
In this scenario, I would suggest here is to uninstall the display drivers from Device manager.
Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10
Select Device Manager.
Expand the entry. Right-click under display drivers and select Uninstall device.
You may need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.
Now restart the computer and then update the Bios, Chipset and graphics card drivers on your PC from our HP support website, using this link.
I would suggest please update the BIOS on your PC and check if it helps.
Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
I hope this should help. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.
Eagerly waiting for your response!

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. As I understand the system isn't wont boot into the desktop screen anymore,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Did you install any recent Windows or Bios updates that could have caused this issue?
When was the last time it worked without these issues?
Did you perform a system restore to an earlier working date?
Are you referring that the computer won't wake up from sleep mode or the laptop won't boot into the desktop screen.
While you respond to that, Please follow the below steps to resolve your concern:
Perform a Hard reset on the notebook:
Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components. Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a "Hard Reset". Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer:
1. If Windows is open, click Start and then Shutdown.
If Windows is not open and the computer has power, press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.
2. With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.
3. With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.
4. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.
If the computer won't boot into the desktop screen after the recent update,
If you have previously disabled App Readiness
- Boot the PC
- Click Start and type Services
- Open desktop app Services and find App Readiness
- Open the service and set Startup type to Manual
- Click Apply and close the window
- Download and install HP Image Enhancement for System Logon - http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp81501-82000/sp81965.exe
- Re-boot
If you have not disabled App Readiness
- Boot the PC
- Wait 15-20 minutes for the boot process to complete and for the desktop to load
- Once on desktop, Download and install HP Image Enhancement for System Logon - http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp81501-82000/sp81965.exe
- Re-boot
For more details, please follow the steps suggested in the support document for - HP Notebook PCs - Computer Starts but Screen Remains Blank (Windows 10, 😎
