I just bought this HP omen 15 laptop about a week ago and so far it's been wonderful. Except for this one part about it's overheating. Whenever I plug in the laptop while I'm gaming the CPU temp will jump and the fans will go crazy. I've tried running troubleshoots and setting the battery to less performance-based and still nothing. I"ve restarted it and I'm left a little stumped. Does anyone know how I could fix this? (Btw I'm kinda new to the whole laptop terminology world, this is my first laptop, so the simpler the word the better)

Hello @sxmcilrath
That is actually normal. When "gaming", you are taxing the hardware and when you do this plugged in, the cpu/gpu are getting full power to run at its full potential. If you game while on battery only, the system throttles down to save power and prevent heating which is hard on the battery while its being used. Pretty much all laptops do this.
HP recommends you game while plugged in so that you can obtain full power and save on battery recycles.
Does this help? Let me know if you have other questions.
