I hope this helps anyone having the same issue with the Omen touchpad becoming laggy or unresponsive after a while.
I have seen previous posts where the FN+F11 trick was accepted as a solution, but it is just temporarily since in most cases the issue will return after a while.

User SkyB created a video (HP Omen laptop mouse lag fix. - YouTube) on what it seems a more realistic fix based on this Reddit post (📢 HP Omen 16 Touchpad issue guaranteed fix : HPOmen) which does involve opening the laptop and voiding your warranty if you still have one, so be aware.

Haven't tested it myself though but it has some very good response from reading the comments of both sources.
