Omen 17 upgrade ram

I have omen 17 notebook with 16 GB RAM 2 slots each one has 8 GB ram
I need to upgrade the RAM
so what is the max RAM that i can add for my notebook

And is the ram upgrade depending on the processor only?
Or aloso it depending on motherboard also?

I would like to take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums. I came across you post and would like to help. I understand that you have an HP Omen 17 and would like to know what is the maximum RAM that can be added to your laptop. 

I did some research and found that there are many HP Omen 17 laptop series. Therefore I request you to reply to me with the exact model no. of your HP Omen 17 laptop and this will help me to check the motherboard specifications and how much RAM it can support.

You are welcome. 🙂 Thanks for the product information. I checked the hardware specifications and found that your HP Omen 17-w101nx has 2 memory slots (2 x 8 GB). I also checked the user guide (Page no. 34) and found that 16GB is the maximum memory that can be accommodated in the computer.
