Omen by HP 15-dc1030nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I did a clean install of windows 10 version 1903 on Omen by HP 15-dc1030nr. All the keys on the keyboard work great, but the omen command center button is not working.

I have Omen command Center version  8.2.11.0 installed and I can access it by clicking the windows key and searching.

If their a way I can map the omen key to the command center or fix the issue with an update?

Hi @Oluoch

That is a glitch HP has be battling for over a year now and no fix has been found.

Some have come in and offered fixes to change registry files, but i have not found one yet that was viable.

The newest series thats coming out not doesn't share the OCC button with the home button, which seams to the the culprit.

Im sorry.

I recently received my machine back from service, and now the Omen Command Center refuses to open when the dedicated OMEN keyboard key is pressed, only resulting in this error message. For my model the OCC (Omen Command Center) didn't really serve any purpose other than as bloatware, so its no big deal to me. However I do wonder what causes this to occur so suddenly though... corruption? and update? who knows.

(fun other story. upon boot up, I had discovered this key press error, so when I went to the Microsoft Store had updated the OCC, over 600 of these error messages appeared as if the computer was in a frenzy to find it... however after a reboot, it didn't do it again.)

Are you F serious? HP first broke the quite fan curve by updating the bios and now the omen button doesn't even work with the 1903 update and HP doesn't give a **bleep** about us. Wow great practice hp, leaving your old loyal customers with a broken computer. My hp omen 15 dc00051 has transformed from my favorite laptop to the worst of the worst, everything is broken, loud fan curve and I can't even do programming/watch youtube without earplugs. No Fan control and now a known bug for over 1 year and no fix. Just Great HP!
