OMEN Laptop - 15-ek0247ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello community,

I've been having issues with some keys on my HP Omen gaming laptop/notebook not functioning/working at all, and I've been advised that the keyboard needs to be replaced. The model name is called: OMEN Laptop 15-ek0247ng (See picture below)

(btw. it is not about the R Key that is missing a keycap)

However, I've received conflicting information from different technicians.

Some technicians have told me that the keyboard is riveted to the chassis, which means I would need to replace the entire keyboard assembly, including the chassis. This would significantly increase the cost. (See pictures of the spare parts of the chassis and the keyboard together below)

Other technicians have offered to replace just the keyboard itself, without mentioning any issues with rivets, maybe without even knowing that there‘s such an issue, because of not being so familiar with HP Laptops, which would come out later once they‘re into fixing and find out they can’t do it or maybe the other technicians are just wrong and there‘s actually no such thing on this model that would make it so complicated (See pictures of the spare parts of just the keyboard below)

My question is not about whether it's possible to replace just the keyboard—because it is, if you are a hobbyist who takes a lot of time and care, tinkering with it until it works—but about whether I need to replace the entire chassis along with it because of rivets. If the keyboard is not actually riveted to the chassis, I might end up paying more than necessary by replacing both the chassis and keyboard when only the keyboard needs replacing on this model.

The technicians I'm dealing with are intermediates, not hobbyists, so they may prefer a quicker, more comprehensive solution rather than taking the time to carefully replace just the keyboard by removing individual rivets. Can anyone confirm whether the keyboard on these models is riveted to the chassis, or if it's sufficient to order just the keyboard from the net and replace only the keyboard?
