I was testing my internet speed, and it was consistently around 120–130 Mbps download, which I was very pleased with. However, I knew that the OMEN Gaming Hub had a Network Booster feature, so I decided to try it out.

After opening the Gaming Hub, I was told that the feature could only be used after installing an SDK update, so I went ahead and installed it. Once the installation was finished, I rebooted my PC. After restarting, my Wi-Fi showed as connected, but I had no internet access.

The Network Booster wasn't even enabled, and I've already tried uninstalling the Gaming Hub and rebooting my laptop again, but to no luck.

Hi @Avantyl,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I understand that the issue started immediately after installing the OMEN Gaming Hub SDK update for Network Booster, and now your PC shows as connected to Wi‑Fi but has no internet access.

Let's try the following steps:

Step 1: Check for OMEN/Realtek Network Filters

  1. Press Windows + R, type ncpa.cpl, and press Enter.

  2. Right-click your Wi‑Fi adapter and select Properties.

  3. Look for entries such as:

    • Realtek LightWeight Filter

    • HP Network Booster

    • OMEN Network Optimiser

  4. If found, uncheck them and click OK.

  5. Test the internet connection.

Step 2: Reset the Network Stack:

  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator.

  2. Run the following commands one at a time:

1. netsh winsock reset

2. netsh int ip reset

3. ipconfig /flushdns

  1. Restart the PC.

Step 3: Restart or Disable OMEN Network Services:

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.

  2. Look for services related to:

    • HP Network Booster

    • OMEN Network Optimiser

    • OMEN Gaming Hub

  3. Stop the services and set them to Disabled temporarily.

  4. Restart the computer and check connectivity.

Step 4: Reinstall the Wireless Adapter

If the issue persists:

  1. Open Device Manager.

  2. Expand Network adapters.

  3. Right-click your Wi‑Fi adapter and select Uninstall device.

  4. Restart the PC to allow Windows to reinstall the driver automatically.

Please let us know:

  • The exact OMEN laptop model.

  • Whether you are using an Intel, Realtek, or MediaTek Wi‑Fi adapter.

  • If Ethernet connectivity works normally.

We'll be happy to assist further based on the results.

Take care and have a great day.

I'm an HP Employee.
