After first buying this mouse, I had issues with holding both mouse buttons and the stupid sniper button, but after the firmware update everything is fixed but now i have the sniper button back and my mouse isn't working properly. I don't know what happened but the firmware update is still in my files but it's not working.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post you are having issues with the mouse not working after the recent update. No worries, I'll be glad to help you.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Have you tried to connect an external USB mouse and check if that works?
Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the mouse drivers from device manager?
Have you tried to update the drivers either using Windows update or using HP Support Assistant?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
Let's start off by Running Windows Updates troubleshooter -
Download and install the troubleshooter from this link.
Now try to perform Windows Updates -
1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
If the issue persists, Attempt using an alternate/external mouse.
Uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your mouse:
Go to the Device Manager and select your mouse. Uninstall it and then restart your computer. During restart, your mouse driver will automatically be reinstalled.
-
1. Click on Start and type ‘Device Manager’.
-
2. Click Device Manager.
-
3. Click + sign next to Mouse.
-
4. Right-click on mouse entry and choose "uninstall".
-
5. Restart your computer.
Alternatively, you can try to update the Bios and Chipset drivers on your PC from our HP support website, using this link.
Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Eagerly waiting for your response!
that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
