Hello, a few months ago i started to have this issue with the omen gaming hub at first it was while i was doing some more cpu demanding tasks (not too much usualy just a game running) that after launching the GH it would completely freeze even not being able to close only through task manager, sometimes a game close would work but later on a full pc restart was required even later even an app reinstall now it has gotten into a point where even if nothing else of much importance is running it happends and reinstall has stopped working too. (also my cpu spikes quite drastically when its open even though its not doing anything) i have added some screenshots in regards of that.
Pc specs: omen 15
cpu: intel i7-9750h 2.60ghz
gpu: geforce rtx 2060
ram: 16gb
windows version: windows 10home 22h2
Thanks for any help

Hi @Ondrej69,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Omen 15 is experiencing significant issues with the Omen Gaming Hub, including freezing and CPU spikes. Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.
Update Omen Gaming Hub
Ensure that you have the latest version of the Omen Gaming Hub installed. Check for updates through the app or the HP Support website.
Check for System Updates
Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, system updates can resolve compatibility issues.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click on Check for updates and install any available updates.
Update Drivers
Outdated drivers can cause performance issues. Update the following drivers to their latest versions:
- Graphics card drivers (NVIDIA/AMD)
- Chipset drivers
- Network drivers
You can find these drivers on the HP Support website or the respective manufacturers' websites.
Scan for Malware
Run a full system scan to ensure that malware isn't causing the issue. Use Windows Defender or a trusted third-party antivirus program.
Clean Boot
Perform a clean boot to see if there are any software conflicts causing the issue:
- Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
- In the System Configuration window, go to the Services tab.
- Check Hide all Microsoft services and then click Disable all.
- Go to the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager.
- In Task Manager, disable all startup items.
- Close Task Manager and click OK in the System Configuration window.
- Restart your computer.
Launch Omen Gaming Hub in this clean environment to see if the issue persists.

Reinstall Omen Gaming Hub
Completely uninstall the Omen Gaming Hub and then reinstall it:
- Uninstall Omen Gaming Hub from Settings > Apps.
- After uninstalling, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\ and delete the Omen Gaming Hub folder if it exists.
- Reinstall the Omen Gaming Hub from the HP Support website.
Check for Background Processes
Use Task Manager to check if any background processes are consuming excessive CPU resources:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Go to the Processes tab and sort by CPU usage.
- Identify and end any unnecessary processes consuming high CPU.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
