Thank you for responding,
It's great to have you back 😉
As I suggested earlier, Please try to update the bios, and that would get it fixed.
Keep me posted. 🙂

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
There are many ways to increase FPS and system performance:
-
Update the BIOS.
For desktop PCs, go to HP Desktop PCs - Updating the BIOS.
For notebook PCs, go to HP Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS
-
Update the graphics driver.
Go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, enter your PC model, then select the driver for your graphics card.
-
Most games allow you to change the graphics settings. Using a lower graphic quality often improves FPS.
-
Close any applications or programs that are not being used.
-
Turn on Game Mode. Game Mode is a new feature in Windows 10 Creators Update that improves gaming performance by limiting background processes and programs from using system resources while a game is running.

97 degrees celsius for the CPU is high for gaming. But as the one guy said, if you update the bios it will "fix" it.
Can you reply back if you updated the bios and it did in fact resolve the heating issue?
Also, which Omen do you have? I just ordered one.
Thanks!

Omen laptops overheat unless you change how the CPU is configured, HP will never admit this but it's the way it is.
First, update the bios then change the power supplied to it in the bios config, 30w down from the default 45w is fine. Then install Throttlestop and undervolt the CPU cache and core by .125. You should notice at least a 10c reduction in temperature.
