Hi @MrSohan,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  1. Are you trying to overclock the dedicated RX6500M GPU, the CPU, or both?
  2. Do you have full admin rights on Windows, or is this a work/managed laptop?
  3. Have you noticed whether the framedrops happen consistently in certain games, or are they completely random?
  4. Are you using HP’s latest BIOS and chipset drivers? Sometimes older BIOS versions limit overclocking features.

A few important points and troubleshooting steps:

  1. HP Victus laptops generally have locked BIOS overclocking for both CPU and GPU.
  2. You can still optimize performance without traditional overclocking:
    • Ensure Windows power plan is set to “High Performance.”
    • Use AMD Radeon Software to enable Radeon Boost, Anti-Lag, or Integer Scaling, which can improve frame stability.
    • Check background processes sometimes framedrops are caused by CPU spikes or thermal throttling.
  3. Thermal management:
    • Sudden framedrops often happen if the laptop is overheating. Keep vents clean, and consider a laptop cooling pad.
    • Use AMD Radeon Software to monitor GPU/CPU temps and clocks while gaming.
  4. BIOS & driver updates:
    • Updating the BIOS and AMD drivers from HP’s official support page can improve performance and stability.

The safest route is optimizing drivers, power settings, and thermals.

I hope this helps
