Hi @mahinsoni4 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Product. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
It sounds like your HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec0100ax is facing two primary issues: overheating when plugged in and slow boot-up times. Let's address both problems one by one:
1. Overheating While Charging
If your laptop overheats primarily when charging and in use, it could be due to several factors:
Steps to Address Overheating:
Update BIOS and Drivers: Ensure your laptop's BIOS and all drivers, especially the graphics and chipset drivers, are up to date. An outdated BIOS can cause issues with power management.
Change Power Settings: It could be that the system is automatically boosting performance when plugged in, which causes the CPU or GPU to overwork and generate excess heat.
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
- Select Change plan settings for your current plan.
- Click on Change advanced power settings.
- Under Processor power management, set the maximum processor state to 90% or lower when plugged in.
Disable Turbo Boost (Intel Processors): If your system has an Intel processor, Turbo Boost can push your CPU to higher speeds, generating heat. You can disable it:
- Enter the BIOS on startup by pressing the F10 key.
- Look for settings related to "Intel Turbo Boost" and disable it.
NVIDIA Control Panel Settings: If your laptop has an NVIDIA GPU, you can adjust its power settings to "Optimal Power" when plugged in.
- Right-click on the desktop and open NVIDIA Control Panel.
- Go to Manage 3D settings.
- Under Power management mode, choose Optimal power.
Check for Dust and Clean the Laptop: Dust buildup inside your laptop could be causing poor airflow and overheating.
- Clean the cooling vents with compressed air.
- If possible, open the laptop and clean the fan and heatsink (if you're comfortable with it).
2. Slow Boot-Up Time
If your laptop used to boot in 2-3 seconds but now takes much longer, here are some steps to troubleshoot and speed it up:
Steps to Improve Boot Time:
Disable Startup Programs: Too many programs loading during startup can slow down boot times.
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
- Go to the Startup tab and disable any unnecessary programs.
Run Disk Cleanup: Clear out temporary files and unnecessary system files.
- Go to This PC.
- Right-click on your SSD and select Properties.
- Click on Disk Cleanup and select the files to delete.
Update Windows and Drivers: Ensure your Windows and all drivers, especially storage-related drivers, are up to date.
Check for Malware: Malware can slow down boot times. Run a full system scan using Windows Defender or another antivirus software to rule this out.
Enable Fast Startup: Windows has a "fast startup" feature that can speed up boot time.
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
- Select Choose what the power buttons do.
- Click Change settings that are currently unavailable, and then check the box for Turn on fast startup.
Check for BIOS Updates: A BIOS update can sometimes improve performance and boot times. You can download the latest BIOS from HP’s support website.

I hope this helps.
