Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa1000 (8B483AV)

I am using this Victus Gaming Laptop for one year and by default it never had a performance mode option in Omen Gaming Center. Few days back I went to the store from where I bought this laptop and got my RAM upgraded. Earlier I had 8GB RAM which came with the Laptop but now I have 24GB RAM. When I came home and checked Omen Gaming center I had this option for performance mode, but it suddenly disappeared today. Can anyone help me how to bring that option back. I have  RTX 2050 just in case if that is responsible for peroformance mode option. Can anyoe guide me if my laptop supports performance mode or not

Hi @Ramya65151

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for laying that out so clearly—it’s genuinely puzzling when a feature like Performance Mode appears after a RAM upgrade and then vanishes. You’re not alone in this; other Victus 15-fa1000 users with RTX 2050 have reported similar behavior.

Here’s what you can do to try restoring Performance Mode in OMEN Gaming Hub:

1. Update OMEN Gaming Hub

Sometimes the feature disappears due to outdated app versions.

  • Open Microsoft Store → Search for OMEN Gaming Hub.
  • Click Update if available.
  • Leave the window open for a few minutes if the update doesn’t appear immediately.

2. Run OMEN Gaming Hub as Administrator

This can unlock hidden features.

  • Right-click the OMEN Gaming Hub shortcut → Properties.
  • Go to the Compatibility tab.
  • Check Run this program as an administrator → Apply → OK.

3. Enable Game Mode in Windows

This can influence OMEN’s performance profiles.

  • Go to Settings → Gaming → Game Mode.
  • Toggle Game Mode ON.

4. Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub

If the issue persists:

  • Go to Control Panel → Programs → Uninstall a Program.
  • Remove OMEN Gaming Hub.
  • Restart your laptop.
  • Reinstall from the Microsoft Store.

5. Update BIOS and System Drivers

Performance Mode may be tied to firmware-level support.

6. Check GPU Compatibility

The RTX 2050 is a lower-power GPU, and some users report that Performance Mode is only available for higher-TDP cards like the RTX 3050. However, your system may still support it under certain conditions (e.g., plugged in, high-performance power plan).

Let me know if you'd like help checking your BIOS version or reinstalling the app—I’ll walk you through it.
