HP Omen 15 DC0106tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Bought HP Omen 15 DC-0106tx (i7-8750h + GTX 1060 + 16 GB RAM) 6 months ago.

Was initially satisifed with the performance though the laptop would get pretty hot (and loud too). Then i realized that the performance in games this laptop gave me is 10-20% less than other GTX 1060 laptops. Gpu temps get to 91 C and Cpu would get to 97 c while gaming hence both throttle. Undervolted my Cpu cache and core to -0.125 mv. Also, reduced my cpu tdp to 25W in bios, still no good. Any other ways to solve this or should i repaste??

First thing is to Update OCC:

Let us know after you update.

Updated the OCC. No effect. I also tried Gpu undervolting to no success.

Seriously, this laptop gets very hot, fans are also very loud yet the performance is lacking a lot. WIth this cpu would fail prematurely.HP should be making proper thermal solutions for a gaming laptop, not for heating machines.

That's correct it should have had little or no effect.

It was just a prerequisite.

Then make sure the BIOS is upto date.

NO effect.

Any others ways or should I take it to the service centre?

I owned the 2018 version (i7-8750H, 1070 Max-Q). Due to the bad cooling system design, there's nothing you can do.

I repaste the CPU thermal paste with Liquid Metal, with the Comfort Mode I get 75 degrees while heavy gaming.

Since the GPU doesn't overheating, I repaste it with normal CoolerMaster thermal paste.

But my CPU still gets overheating under the Perfoemance Mode.
