Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop powered off with low battery and now when I connected the charger, it was initially showing the white light which even stop now and system is unable to open. Whenever I press the power button it's keyboard light open for few seconds and then it get off again with orange blink light on charge port. I tried with different chargers but issue is same.

Hi @Faheem190

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your laptop is experiencing a power or charging issue, which can be caused by a variety of factors, such as a malfunctioning battery, power supply, motherboard issue, or something related to the charging circuit.

Here's a breakdown of what you can try to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

A hard reset can help resolve power-related issues by resetting the hardware and clearing any temporary electrical glitches.

Steps:

  1. Disconnect the charger and remove the battery (if possible).
  2. Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power from the system.
  3. Reconnect the charger (without the battery) and try turning the laptop on.

If the laptop powers on, the issue may be related to the battery itself. If the system still doesn't turn on, continue to the next steps.

2. Check the Charging LED Behavior

You mentioned an orange blink light at the charge port. This could indicate a charging issue or a specific error code.

  • Orange blinking LED typically means an issue with the battery charging circuit or the battery itself (depending on your laptop's model).
  • If your laptop is under warranty, consider contacting the manufacturer for assistance with identifying the specific error code based on the blinking pattern. If not, we can still explore other troubleshooting steps.

3. Try Powering On with Battery Removed

To rule out the battery as the cause:

  1. Disconnect the charger and remove the battery (if removable).
  2. Plug the charger back in (with no battery) and try powering on the laptop.

If the laptop turns on without the battery, it's likely that the battery has failed or there is an issue with the battery charging circuit.

4. Test the Power Adapter and Cable

Even though you've tried different chargers, there could still be an issue with the adapter or charging cable. Here are some things to check:

  • Make sure the power adapter is delivering enough wattage for your laptop's needs. Some adapters may look compatible but may not provide the correct power output.
  • If you have access to a multimeter, you can measure the voltage coming from the charger to verify it's functioning properly.
  • Inspect the charging port and the charging cable for any signs of wear, corrosion, or loose connections.

5. Check the Charging Port and Battery Connector

Sometimes, a loose or damaged charging port can cause issues with power delivery. Here's what to check:

  • Inspect the charging port and ensure it's not damaged or loose.
  • If your laptop's battery is removable, inspect the battery connector for dirt or damage.
  • If there's any visible dirt or debris, gently clean the port and try again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
