Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-fa1xxx

Hi everyone. On a "Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-fa1xxx" running Windows 10 64-bit in Spanish, I have an application developed in Microsoft Office 2021 Access (also 64-bit and in Spanish) installed with a Trust Keyboard connected in USB port. So i'm experiencing two issues:

1st – The numeric keypad keeps enabling and disabling constantly while I'm using it. If I’m working in a form and, for example, I close it, the keypad gets disabled. So when I enter the same or another form again, I have to manually activate it to continue entering or typing numbers.

2nd – And this one is more serious: If I’m entering decimal numeric values across rows and columns within a form, suddenly the keyboard layout or regional settings seem to change — the decimal point (.) on the numeric keypad becomes a comma, or vice versa. For example, a value like 123.45 sometimes gets stored as “one hundred twenty-three and 45,” and other times as “twelve thousand three hundred forty-five.” In other words, the thousands and decimal separators switch randomly. Since this is a data entry task, it’s very inconvenient to use the dot(.) or comma (,) from the letter and number keyboard.

When I check Task Manager, I see the following processes running:

HP Insights Analistics Service
HP System Event Utility
HP.OMEN.OMENInstallMonitor
HP.OMEN.Overlay.OverlayHelper
HPPrintScanDoctorService
OMEN Gaming Hub
OmenCap.exe

Thank you

@Pelydas, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Problem:

The numeric keypad keeps enabling and disabling.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Check Sticky Keys / Accessibility Settings:

Go to: Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard

Disable Sticky Keys, Toggle Keys, and any other features that may toggle Num Lock automatically.

Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers:

Go to: Device Manager > Keyboards

Right-click and select Update Driver → Search automatically for updates.

Alternatively, right-click and select Uninstall Device. Restart the laptop to reinstall the driver.

Temporarily Disable HP System Event Utility:

Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).

In the Startup tab, disable HP System Event Utility.

Restart and check if Num Lock behaves correctly.

Problem:

While entering decimal numbers in forms (e.g., 123.45), the decimal separator changes from a period (.) to a comma (,), and sometimes it causes data like 123.45 to be interpreted incorrectly (e.g., as 12345 or 12,345).

Check Regional Settings in Windows:

Go to: Control Panel > Clock and Region > Region > Additional Settings

Make sure that the Decimal symbol is set to either . (dot) or , (comma), depending on what you need.

Also, ensure that the Thousands separator is set correctly.

Disable Language Auto-Switching:

Go to: Settings > Time & Language > Language

Click Keyboard → Remove any extra input methods or language options.

In Advanced Keyboard Settings, disable:

"Let me use a different input method for each app window".

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
