Hi @Wolf911,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We appreciate your detailed questions regarding the hall sensor and cooling system on your Victus Gaming Laptop 16-r1062ne. Let’s address both points clearly:
1. Hall Sensor Issue
The hall sensor is responsible for detecting lid position and enabling sleep/wake functionality. In earlier Victus models, some customers reported intermittent issues such as:
- Laptop not waking from sleep
- Black screen after closing/opening the lid
For Victus Gaming Laptop 16-r1062ne:
- HP has implemented firmware and design improvements in newer Victus models to reduce these occurrences.
- If you experience any lid detection or sleep/wake issues, we recommend:
- Update BIOS and drivers using HP Support Assistant or from the HP Drivers page:👉 Victus Gaming Laptop 16-r1062ne (A95G4EA) | HP® Support
- Disable Modern Standby and use Hibernate as an alternative if the issue persists.
- If the problem continues after updates, please contact HP Support for hardware diagnostics and repair.
2. Cooling System
Yes, the Victus Gaming Laptop 16-r1062ne includes OMEN Tempest Cooling technology, which provides:
- Three-way airflow for improved heat dissipation
- Dynamic thermal management via OMEN Gaming Hub
- Optimized fan curves for gaming and performance workloads
To ensure optimal cooling:
- Keep the laptop on a hard, flat surface.
- Regularly clean vents and update the OMEN Gaming Hub for thermal profiles.
Additional Recommendations
- Run HP Hardware Diagnostics to confirm all sensors and thermal components are functioning:👉 HP PC Hardware Diagnostics | HP® Support
- Update OMEN Gaming Hub: OMEN Gaming Hub | HP® Official Site for the latest cooling optimizations.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi @Wolf911,
We understand there have been concerns raised in the past regarding hinge durability on some earlier HP Victus models. HP continuously reviews customer feedback and makes iterative design improvements across our product lines.
For the specific model you are referring to, the hinges have been evaluated and meet HP’s current durability and quality standards. At this time, HP has not issued any recalls or identified a widespread defect related to hinge performance on this model.
That said, hinge durability can vary depending on usage conditions, and HP covers any hinge-related issues under the standard warranty if the failure is determined to be a manufacturing defect.
Take care and have an amazing day!
