Problems pairing with cell phone using bluetooth

OMEN 15-dc1054nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, is anyone having success pairing their cell phone to their Omen laptop using bluetooth?   I initially wanted to try playing cell phone music through the laptop speakers (just to experiment) and thought later I could try file transfer over bluetooth.

It says paired, and I get a connection that lasts for about 1 second and then it quickly disconnects, every time.  Occurs with both a Samsung phone and an LG phone.  I am able to pair the laptop with my bluetooth headphones and that seems to work fine.  I found the link below, but I still get the same result.   Thanks for any ideas you might have.

That simply means you need to work out the other ens, not from your computer. Both phones use Android therefore please try

Problems pairing with cell phone using bluetooth

Thanks Banhien.  I just quickly read through the two links and will go back over each more carefully.  I should have included a note that I'm also able to connect other devices (like my bluetooth headphones) to my two Android phones with no problem.  It is just the combination of phone and laptop together that isn't working.  The two links seem to be for situations where bluetooth on the phone isn't pairing with any other device (which isn't the case for me), but I'll read them more carefully.
