Dear Madam or Sir,
I hope you are doing well,
I just bought a new laptop from HP `OMEN Transcend 14´ less than a week ago, i was using the laptop and testing it from the last few days, and there is some serious problems that im facing, especially that the product is getting very hot quickly even without playing games, both plugged in and unplagged, even yesterday when i was playing assassin`s creed, it gets very warm in the first 10 minutes and turned off by itself.. another problem which is the battery, most of the time im only using microsoft word or chatgbt and the battery is lasting around 2 hours maximum ( when i saw the advertisement it was saying that it can last up to 8 hours) and that was a reason why i choosed the 14th edition instead of the 16 inch. Also the screen blinks black every now and then, and some games like efootball which require a very low requirements it is running slow.. so i dont really know what the problem is, i really feel disapointed for what i am receiving from this product especially after reading the description of the product i was very convinced and expecting something totally different, and having the product most of the time in a hot temperature made me afraid of something bad happening..
I used a HP laptop for 12 years before buying this new laptop, i know the quality of HP and that was the reason why i wanted to stay with hp, but i really feel disapointed after what im seeing from the product that i bought..
I wanted to share with you the issues immediately because i trust on HP and beofre being using the product for a longer time..
Please reach me by email: (Edited)
I am looking forward to hearing from you,
Best Regards,
Hicham

Hi @HichamHarb
I understand how frustrating it can be to face these issues on a new Device. Please be assured that we are help you.
as you mentioned you are experiencing overheating, reduced battery life, and screen blinking issues with your HP OMEN Transcend 14, here are several steps you can take to address these problems:
Overheating and Automatic Shutdown:
-
Clean the Vents and Fans:
- Ensure the vents are not blocked and the fans are functioning properly. Use compressed air to remove dust and debris from the vents.
-
Update BIOS and Drivers:
- Visit the HP support page to download and install the latest BIOS and drivers. Firmware updates can improve thermal management.
-
Check for Background Applications:
- Ensure there aren't too many applications running in the background that might strain the CPU/GPU. Use Task Manager to end unnecessary programs.
-
Environment and Surface:
- Ensure your laptop is on a hard, flat surface to promote proper airflow. Avoid using it on soft surfaces like beds or sofas.
-
Cooler Master Software:
- If applicable, use HP's OMEN Command Center to adjust fan speeds and performance modes to better manage cooling.
Battery Life:
-
Battery Health:
- Run a battery diagnostic using HP Support Assistant to check the health of your battery.
-
Power Settings:
- Adjust power settings to balanced or power saver modes to extend battery life.
-
Calibration:
- Calibrate the battery if it’s offering only short usage times. Completely discharge it, then fully charge it without interruptions.
Screen Blinking Black:
-
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date by checking for updates on either the HP support page or directly from the GPU manufacturer's site (NVIDIA/AMD).
-
Check Display Settings:
- Ensure the refresh rate and resolution settings match the capabilities of your display.
-
Inspect the Connections:
- If you’ve recently opened the laptop or moved it around, check that all internal connections (like the screen cable) are secure.
General Maintenance:
-
Perform System Updates:
- Running the latest version of Windows OS and software updates can often resolve underlying bugs causing performance issues.
-
HP Support Assistant:
- Use the HP Support Assistant tool for further diagnostics and troubleshooting assistance.
I hope this helps!
Regards
