@Jimkurian Here's a list of parts tested and approved by HP to work on your device:

Memory modules (2, DDR4, 2666 MHz, 1.2 V):

16 GB - 937438-855

8 GB - 937236-855

4 GB - L10598-855

you may order the replacement parts on the HP Parts Store, If you've already looked for it and couldn't find it on the HP Parts Store, you may want to get it locally at the online store such as Amazon or eBay, etc...as the part numbers are universal.

Is it possible for pre installed 8GB + new 16GB on empty slot configuration?

@Jimkurian It seems to support upto 32GB of memory modules, and hence, you should be able to upgrade as per your preference, please consider checking with a local tech to be on a safer side, before investing on such upgrades.
