Hp 17-an053nr

I have an Hp Omen 17-an053nr. It has 2 x 8 gb RAM 2400mhz but the manual also says 2666mhz.  I'm a little confused. Does my laptop support both 2400 and 2666 RAM? Thank you.

Hi:

The fastest speed the processor your notebook has can run the memory at is 2400 MHz.

2666 MHz memory should work but it will 'downclock' or 'bridge' to 2400 MHz.

Specs on your notebook's processor...

Memory Types DDR4-2400...
