Hello, I just recently purchased a Hp Pavilion Gaming Laptop with the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti video card. The processor is "Intel Core i5 8th Gen". I am wondering what type of ram do I need to boost its speed? Do they make ram specifically for gaming? Either way. I would like to upgrade it. I am not sure what to buy.

What is your HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0xxx ?  For example

 

           HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0009tx

 

Probably your machine uses same RAM. I don't know your machine therefore amusing your machine also has 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) and supports 32GB max. You can upgrade to

 

(a) 16GB by adding same existing RAM to slot 2 or using the following compatible RAM

            https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct8g4sfs8266/ct14848367

(b) 32GB: install 16GB each to both slots using the following compatible RAM

           https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/bls2k16g4s26bfsd/ct14848372
