I want to upgrade my laptop ram , its 8 gb now (4+4) , i want it to 16 , so how to use either a single 16gb aor 8+8 configuration

Since it can support 2 x 16 GB of memory, you may want to add a 16 GB chip to the existing memory and someday max out the memory by removing the 4 GB chip and replacing it with another 16 GB chip.

The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1.
If you install memory in matching capacities, the memory runs in the higher performing dual channel mode, as it is now.
If you install memory in mismatched capacities (4 GB + 8 GB, etc.), the memory runs in the lower performing single channel mode.
