So me and my friend play on a modded server together on Minecraft. He is on some generic Acer laptop that has less powerful hardware than my laptop. Whenever we play, he seems to have a steady 60fps where as mine drops to fluxuating between 1-2fps at random times then will go back up to 60 for a short time before dropping again. I've turned all my visual settings down, closed everything but Minecraft, but it still happens. We thought it could be a RAM issue, but both him and I have the same amount of RAM and his runs just fine. What could the issue be if it is not hardware capabilities?

there are many possible reasons that can drop down the fps in a game, but if this happens only in minecraft should try reinstalling it, also it happens only with the mod you added? without it does it runs fine? 🤔
