What kind of m.2 port is on 8th generation omen 15?

For example the model dc-0043np.

can i add a nvme ssd on it?

What is your machine ? It is an HP Omen 15-ax250wm or HP Omen 15-dc0043np ? For the OMEN 15-AX250WM, you can add M.2 NVMe SSD. The Crucial P1 series is known as compatible product, for example
