When playing League of Legends on my HP Victus laptop with an RTX 4070 and Ryzen 7 8845HS, I initially get a steady 240 FPS (capped), which is expected. The CPU power draw starts around 30–35 watts. However, after about 10 minutes into the game, the CPU power drops sharply to 20–25 watts, and FPS fall significantly to 120–160. Temperatures have never been an issue, staying below 65°C throughout.

This clearly looks like aggressive power throttling enforced by the BIOS. We urgently need a BIOS update to fix this behavior and allow the CPU to maintain its expected performance during gaming sessions.

HP really needs to start giving users more control over their own hardware, especially in the BIOS. We paid for high-end CPUs and GPUs — we should be able to use their full performance without hidden power limits kicking in mid-game.

At the very least, HP should provide advanced BIOS options for power limits, or an "unlock performance" mode in OMEN Gaming Hub. Right now, the system is clearly being throttled unnecessarily, even when temperatures are well under control.

It feels like HP is holding back the potential of these machines for the sake of silent power management — but for gamers and power users, that tradeoff shouldn't be forced.
