No one replied to the original poster but today I have also begun experiencing the same issue of flickering. On 120 hz and apparent when dark black and white image background. Is this due to refresh rate, hardware issue or the OLED protection? It is quite disturbing to see for the first time.

The screen of your machine supports 48Hz to 120Hz as mentioned on its specs

Probably you know the ROT: refresh rate goes up, resolution will go down and vice versa. You machine must balance that and it normally would optimize its work. For machines with NATIVE 144Hz screen we won't see the problem when using 144Hz. My suggestion lower its refresh rate to allow it to catch up with other hardware.

Juts my 2 cents
