Good Day.

I would like to get info on what could have caused this and to confirm if I will have to bring this to a service center.

I was playing on my laptop when the screen went to black but the sounds of the game was still going.

I restarted the laptop and now the screen is always like this.

Hi @norgard0,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with your Laptop display.

Follow the below steps to access the BIOS menu to confirm if the issue persists.

1) Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.(Wait for few seconds post releasing the power button)

2) Turn on the computer and immediately press esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu is displayed, press the f10 to access the BIOS menu.

If the issue appears in the BIOS, there is an issue with the hardware.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
