Screen, all lights included external devices' flickering even a little stress comes across. It was flickering less at the start but now when gaming it becomes impossible to operate the laptop. I ran all tests / driver uptades; checked all previous driver uptades. Nothing helps, i turned off hibernation with "powercfg.exe -h off" thinking it was a sensor issue causing hibernation but it did not help too. And it isn't even get that hot. Everything is as usual as were. Help me please. I have warranty, is only choice to send it to service?
edit: maxing fans from hp hub helps a little bit but not much
edit 2: it sometimes changes running apps' resolution??? i thought maybe it can give away wy this happens

Hi @emmyr
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-s0000 is experiencing severe screen flickering and resolution changes under stress, which could be related to power delivery, GPU instability, or display driver conflicts. Since you've already tried driver updates and power settings, let's explore deeper fixes:
1. Check GPU Power Limits & TGP Settings
- Some HP Victus models limit GPU power dynamically, which can cause flickering when the system struggles to maintain stable power.
- Use NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D Settings → Power Management Mode and set it to Prefer Maximum Performance.
- If available, check TGP settings in BIOS or HP OMEN Gaming Hub.
2. Disable Adaptive Sync / G-Sync
- If your laptop has G-Sync or Adaptive Sync, try disabling it:
- Open NVIDIA Control Panel → Display → Set up G-Sync.
- Uncheck Enable G-Sync and restart.
3. Check for Display Driver Conflicts
- Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager).
- Expand Display Adapters → Right-click NVIDIA GPU → Uninstall device (check "Delete driver software").
- Restart and reinstall the latest driver from NVIDIA’s official site.
4. Run HP UEFI Diagnostics for Hardware Issues
- Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly → Select F2 (HP Diagnostics).
- Run Display & GPU tests to check for hardware faults.
5. Adjust Windows Display Settings
- Go to Settings → System → Display.
- Set Refresh Rate to 144Hz (or the highest available).
- Disable Dynamic Resolution Scaling in games.
6. Check for Power Delivery Issues
- If external devices flicker too, it could indicate power instability.
- Try using a different power adapter or plugging directly into a wall socket.
7. Consider a BIOS Update
- HP may have released a BIOS update that improves stability—check HP’s support page for updates.
Since maxing fans helps slightly, it suggests thermal throttling or power instability. Let me know what happens!
