Microsoft Windows 11

I have a HP Omen 16 with a RTX 4070 graphics card, and the screen keeps turning black. It typically happens under load, such as when I am playing games. Sometimes it returns to normal after under a minute, but other times it can stay black for a very long time. I can hear the game running, but the keyboard doesn't do anything and the screen is turned off.

Apparently this problem is very widespread, and some people have mentioned that you can disconnect some ribbon cable to resolve it. Though then the laptop won't hibernate when you close the lid. If it can be resolved by disconnecting the cable, couldn't it also be disabled in software? It would be great if one could simply turn off this feature while gaming and then re-enable it later... I really don't want to wait months for the hardware to get fixed in a local shop.

It seems that if I unplug the power, it recovers from the black screen faster, so perhaps this has something to do with power savings.
