OMEN by HP 25L Gaming Desktop PC GT15-1000i (6J775AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have been wanting to play valorant and I played about 2 years ago and it worked just fine. I recently redownloaded it and it tells me to enable secure boot... so I did just that. The problem is that when I enable it, it tells me that that it is invalid and i can't start windows it is 3F0 code. It starts up perfectly when I have is disabled, I tried everything I even updated my BIOS. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Hi  @f3t4forever

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that you are encountering a Secure Boot issue on your OMEN desktop.

You mentioned that Valorant requires Secure Boot to be enabled, but after enabling it, the system fails to boot into Windows and displays a 3F0 error, while Windows loads normally when Secure Boot is disabled.

I can certainly understand your concern, and I'm glad to assist.

To help us better understand the situation, kindly provide the below details:

  • Is Windows installed in UEFI mode or Legacy mode?
  • Did Secure Boot work previously on this system, or is this the first time you have attempted to enable it?
  • Have any hardware changes been made recently, such as a new SSD, HDD, or motherboard component?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm ;

Step 1: Verify Boot Mode

  1. Press Windows + R.
  2. Type msinfo32 and press Enter.
  3. Locate BIOS Mode.
  4. Kindly let us know if it shows UEFI or Legacy.

Secure Boot requires the system to boot in UEFI mode.

Step 2: Restore Secure Boot Factory Keys

  1. Restart the PC and repeatedly tap F10 to enter BIOS.
  2. Navigate to Security > Secure Boot Configuration.
  3. Look for an option such as:
    • Restore Factory Keys
    • Load HP Factory Default Keys
    • Clear Secure Boot Keys followed by Restore Keys
  4. Save changes and restart the computer.

Step 3: Check Drive Detection

Since the system reports a 3F0 Boot Device Not Found error when Secure Boot is enabled:

  1. Enter BIOS (F10).
  2. Go to Storage or Boot Options.
  3. Confirm the Windows SSD is detected properly.
  4. Verify that Windows Boot Manager appears in the boot order.

Step 4: Run HP Hardware Diagnostics - Click here for steps

  1. Power off the PC.
  2. Turn it on and repeatedly tap F2.
  3. Run the Storage Test.
  4. Share the results if any failure ID is displayed.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
