I been trying to register my device. Serial number or not wrong can’t get ahold of anyone to chat with to help me. Customer service is non existent without the serial number but HP doesn’t even recognize my PC

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  1. How are you trying to register your device through the HP website, the HP Support Assistant app, or another method?
  2. Can you locate the serial number anywhere on the laptop itself usually it’s on the bottom of the laptop,or in the BIOS?
  3. Do you know if your laptop was purchased new from HP directly or from a retailer online shopping site?

In the meantime, here are a few steps you can try:

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check the BIOS for the serial number:
    • Power on the laptop and immediately press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
    • Press F1 for System Information your serial number should be listed there.
  2. Use HP Support Assistant:
    • If it’s installed, open the app and go to My devices → Device details to see if the serial number is detected.
  3. Physical inspection:
    • Look under the laptop, on the bottom panel, or under the battery if it’s removable. HP often prints the serial number on a sticker.
  4. Try a different browser or clear cache:
    • Sometimes the HP registration site can fail to recognize a valid serial number due to browser issues.
