Hello,

I recently purchased an Omen 17 with I9-13900K + RTX 4090 with 32GB ram. Since I received the laptop it has been plague with severe stuttering and low FPS. Initially it pointed to the new windows update 23H2 as the stuttering disappeared after uninstalled it but then I realised the stuttering keeps coming back intermittently. For example it was fine when I am playing Hogwarts Legacy for few hours then when I switch to other game example DOTA 2, it will start to stutter. I have no idea what is causing it.

I have updated to the latest nvidia driver and currently using Windows 11 22H2. I did suspect the Optimus is causing this issue as when I selected only NVIDIA it was OK for a  while and then it comes back again. Then I installed EPIC game launcher to download Alan Wake 2 and it cause the stuttering again while downloading the game.  It happened really random. The only thing I can check is the GPU utilisation is constantly at 100% and that might be the reason why the frame rate drop due to throttling effect.

I am really at end of what I can do to fix this. I had reset/reinstalled windows 3 times!!! and it is still the same. Update bios etc.  Most of the time it seems to recovered when I restart the laptop but you shouldn't have to do that every time you want to switch game for a top end laptop!!! I start to suspect this is hardware issue rather than bug.

Does anyone has similar issue before on their Omen? I am still within the return windows as still less than a week since I received it laptop. It has wasted so much of my time reinstall the windows and game over and over again.

TIA
