Omen laptop model 15-ax200nc
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

I wanted to factory reset my laptop  but instead of using the HP recovery option I instead used the "windows one" (I assume?)
When the reset finished, my laptop was installed without the HP software that was installed when I bought it.

Is there a way for me to get it back? Download it or possibly get a USB or something? I hope my situation is fixable.

Thanks a lot in advance

Hi:

The only software downloads are those available on your notebook's support page.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-15-Notebook-PC-series/7771366/model/791...

What you may want to do is to create W10 installation media using the HP cloud recovery client utility.

Since it requires a 32 GB USB flash drive, perhaps the image contains all of the drivers and software that originally came with your PC.

An ordinary W10 ISO file is only slightly more than 4 GB.

Here is an info link on how to use the cloud recovery client utility...

Hi,

Thank you for the insight. I'll try and do that as soon as possible.

The only thing I'm afraid though, is that this Cloud Recovery Tool is a universal tool rather than a tool for a specific laptop.

You linked a different laptop than what I use currently, sorry for correcting you, I don't mean to be rude in any way. I can also see the available software for downloading. I'll try and use that if the Cloud Recovery Tool doesn't work.

Have you got any experience with the tool? Do you think it could help me specififally? (I can imagine that an Omen is using slightly different software from other non-gaming oriented laptops)

Thank you very much again

You're very welcome.

The file that is created will be for your specific model PC.

You will have to enter your PC'S product number, and the software will check to see if your PC is supported by the software.

I don't have any PC'S that are supported by the cloud recovery client.

Oh, I see!

I will try tomorrow, since it's currently almost midnight and I have no 32GB USB's available at home but I'll make sure to get one asap and then let you know if it worked or not.

Thank you so much for your help! 🙂

Anytime, Nick.

Glad to have been of assistance.

Here is the current support matrix of all HP consumer notebooks supported by the cloud recovery client.

You can filter by the product number...

It worked!

Thank you so much for your help. The Cloud Recovery detected my laptop immediately, didn't even need to look for a model / serial number!

I don't know what I would've done without you!

Hugs ^^
