Hey I want to upgrade my storage to ssd. My laptop comes with hdd and 16gb optane memory. No extra slot for ssd. So, can I replace the optane memory with Samsung 970 evo plus 512gb ssd which is nvme M2 ssd and pcie 3. Is my laptop compatible with the ssd I mentioned above

Your machine is a CTO machine, I won't be able to find its specs but I know the series has dual storage options with M.2 NVMe SSD + 2.5" SATA HDD as shown on my HP Omen 15-dc0071tx machine
You say your machine has 16GB of Optane, what is other drive ?
You can replace 16GB of Optane using 512GB or 1TB of Samsung 970EVO but you have to disable Optane first before actually remove it. Please use the following clip s an example

No, it M.2 slot only runs at its speed, not Samsung speed.
