Hi @D2vn,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for sharing the image. Based on what I see, the slight tilt in the SSD on your HP Pavilion Plus Gaming Laptop 16-ab0025 is not normal if the SSD is already supposed to be fully installed and secured.
What the Tilt Suggests
- The SSD appears to be partially inserted and not yet pressed down flat.
- This is typical during the initial insertion phase, where the SSD is angled before being secured.
- If left tilted, it may not make full contact with the connector, leading to:
- Boot errors
- Drive not being detected
- Data loss or instability
How to Properly Install the SSD
- Insert at an Angle
- Slide the SSD into the M.2 slot at about a 30-degree angle.
- Ensure the gold contacts are fully seated in the connector.
- Press Down Gently
- Once inserted, gently press the SSD down so it lies flat and parallel to the motherboard.
- Once inserted, gently press the SSD down so it lies flat and parallel to the motherboard.
- Secure with a Screw
- Use the retaining screw at the opposite end of the connector to hold the SSD in place.
- This prevents movement and ensures stable electrical contact.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
