Unfortunately, this User-by/for-User Forum is staffed primarily by volunteers and as such there's nothing we can do to track or recover your missing property. In addition, there is no way to track a laptop unless you had preinstalled special tracking software, like shown here: Laptop tracking software: 8 apps to track your lost or stolen PC | TechRadar.
My recommendation is as follows:
1.) Contact HP Customer Support (http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html). Tell them about the stolen laptop and get a case number.
PLEASE NOTE: After you get through -eventually, stay on the line until you are actually able to talk to someone. Yes, it may take a while.
2.) If you haven't done so already, contact your local law enforcement authorities about the theft. Provide law enforcement all the information they need and provide proof of ownership. You will most likely need this to have them return the laptop to you if they happen to recover your laptop.
3.) If your laptop is returned, or if you purchase a replacement, you may consider to purchase one of the available tracking software programs. Doing this will greatly increase your chances of recovery by preinstalling anti-theft software that "phones home" to your internet service provider.
This article summarizes what to do/expect: https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-track-stolen-laptops-with-a-mac-or-ip-address.
In other words, realistically, the only way to locate a laptop is if you have something embedded in it that would allow you to find it -such as "Lojack for Laptops" which provides that feature.
Hope this was helpful.
