Hi @RandalWJ, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP.OMEN.Overlay.overlayHelper is part of the OMEN Gaming Hub software. It’s a background process that enables the in-game overlay feature, allowing you to monitor performance metrics, adjust settings, and use other gaming-related features while playing.
How to Stop the Pop-up:
If you don’t use OMEN Gaming Hub, or if you just want to disable the overlay pop-up, here’s what you can do:
1. Disable Overlay from OMEN Gaming Hub
- Open OMEN Gaming Hub.
- Go to Settings (gear icon).
- Look for an option related to Overlay and disable it.
- Restart your PC and check if the pop-up appears.
2. Disable the OverlayHelper from Startup
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Click on the Startup tab.
- Find HP.OMEN.Overlay.overlayHelper or anything related to OMEN Gaming Hub.
- Right-click and select Disable.
- Restart your PC.
3. Uninstall OMEN Gaming Hub (if you don’t need it)
- Press Win + R, type appwiz.cpl, and hit Enter.
- Scroll down and find OMEN Gaming Hub.
- Right-click and select Uninstall.
- Restart your PC.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
