Solved!

Storage slots inside the laptop

HP Recommended
HP OMEN 15-dc0013nq
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. How can I find how many storage slots I have inside my laptop? I know for sure that I have at least one  (SSD 256 GB) 😂

I want to upgrade the storage and put a 1TB HDD inside it.

Sorry, my Google search gave me the wrong one. Anyway, it has M.2 Toshiba NVMe 256GB SSD. You have two options

(a) Replace 256GB with larger capacity drive from Toshiba

                    https://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-XG5-KXG50ZNV1T02-Single-Sequential/dp/B07B4J17KT

or  using M.2 NVMe SSD from

            https://www.samsung.com/au/memory-storage/970-evo-nvme-m2-ssd/MZ-V7E2T0BW/
            https://www.crucial.com/products/ssd/crucial-p2-ssd
            https://www.crucial.com/products/ssd/crucial-p5-ssd
        Or similar from reputable vendors.
One example (compatible drive, can use smaller/larger capacity)

                      https://www.crucial.com/ssd/p5/ct2000p5ssd8/ct18194884

(b) Add 2.5" HDD/SSD to your machine but you need to buy more parts

  •               Hard drive cable connector part # 929450-001
  •               Hard drive brackets part # 929561-001

You can use part # to buy from

                       https://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=929450-001

or Amazon, Newegg .... (if available).

Regards.

Its specs

    https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c06212388

Which says it already has  1 TB 7200 rpm SATA. Looks like you had a deal elsewhere and now it has (SSD 256 GB)  which I don't know which slot it is using.

Please use Device Manager and look at Disk drivers to see what it is and post back.

Regards.

The laptop is dc0013nq not dc0013na. The laptop has NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti (not 1060) and 256 GB SSD aswell (not 1 TB). Anyway, I looked at Disk drivers and I found this:  Screenshot_1.png

The second one is an external HDD which I bought several months ago, and I guess the 1st one is the SSD drive, but is not showing other "slots". So I'm guessing that I have only the SSD storage slot?
