Subject: HP Victus Hinge Issue – Manufacturing Defect? Request for Free Repair

Dear HP Support and Community,

I am facing a serious hinge issue with my HP Victus laptop. The plastic near the left hinge of the display is tearing apart, splitting the lid into two separate sections. I have attached the photos of the damage for reference:
hinge.jpeg

My device's warranty expired 6 months ago, and now this critical structural flaw has surfaced. Every time I open or close the lid, I can feel the display getting strained, risking permanent screen damage. This is not normal wear and tear — it’s clearly a design or manufacturing defect.

After researching this issue, I found multiple HP Victus and even Envy series users reporting the exact same hinge problem, often right after their warranties expire. This pattern strongly suggests a recurring, systemic issue with the hinge assembly in these models.

Many users have posted about the same issue on the community

It’s extremely disappointing that such a serious flaw made it past HP’s QA process. I upgraded to the Victus series with confidence in HP’s brand reliability — but this experience has eroded that trust. I find it suspicious that so many users are experiencing hinge issues just after warranty expiration.

This is a known design flaw. I request HP to take full responsibility and offer a free repair or replacement for the defective parts, regardless of warranty status. This issue originated from HP's design/manufacturing decisions, not user negligence.

Please do the right thing — acknowledge this flaw and extend support to affected customers.

Thank you,
