Hi @anubhav074,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the display issue on your OMEN laptop could stem from either hardware or software causes. Since you’ve noticed the lines on a schedule before and they’ve recently become permanent, it’s possible this may relate to a hardware problem with the display itself, such as a loose cable or a fault in the display panel. However, some software diagnostics and updates could help narrow down the cause before you seek repairs.

Here’s a troubleshooting checklist:

BIOS Update

  • Given that you’re on BIOS version F.07 from 2020, there could be newer firmware available to support display stability. Sometimes, the HP Support Assistant may not recognize or recommend updates due to compatibility flags, but you can manually check and download the latest BIOS from the HP Support Website.
  • To find the latest BIOS, go to HP’s website, select your specific OMEN model, and locate the BIOS section. Follow the instructions provided to update the BIOS if a newer version is available.

Display Driver Reset

  • Since you’ve reset the graphics driver already, try a clean reinstallation.
    1. Uninstall the current display driver by opening Device Manager > Display adapters, right-click on your GPU, and select Uninstall device. Ensure the Delete the driver software for this device checkbox is selected.
    2. Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall a stable driver. Then, check the AMD website or HP’s support site for the latest compatible graphics driver.

Run Hardware Diagnostics

  • HP laptops often include built-in diagnostics. You can access these by restarting the laptop and pressing F2 during startup to open HP Hardware Diagnostics. Run a Display Test and check if the issue appears during diagnostics. If it does, this is a strong indicator of a hardware issue.

External Monitor Test

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor to see if the lines appear on it. If the external display is clear, it suggests the issue is with your laptop’s internal display rather than the graphics card.

OMEN Gaming Hub

  • Since the OMEN Gaming Hub SDK package was removed, ensure you have the latest OMEN Gaming Hub software. This app sometimes controls specific display and performance settings on OMEN laptops. Download the latest version from the Microsoft Store or HP’s website.

Consider a Display Repair

  • If the lines remain after software and driver updates, the display panel itself or its connection could be faulty.

Updating the BIOS and running diagnostics should provide insights into whether the issue is software-related or if a display repair is needed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I have done multiple checks as per your suggetions and here are my observation.

i am not sure why but the issue seems to be different when i connected my old vga monitor to my laptop i found out that even my laptop display is working fine for different resolution. Refresh Rate for that monitor is currently set at 40HZ Please refer below attached screenshot

anubhav074_0-1730533820932.png

And the display resolution was set to 1366*768
but i can change the resolution to 1920*1080 and still my laptop display would normally work. Although if i am changing refresh rate to 60HZ i could see the problem but previously even for 60 HZ the display was working it's kind of hit or miss.

One more important observation is that i could see that the portion where black or different colour lines were shown is currently flickering but some how it is not showing any black lines for this setting.
