@TinusP, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue where the auto-hidden taskbar appears behind apps and programs on your Victus by HP 15.6" Gaming Laptop running Windows 11. Let's walk through a few steps to resolve this:

Restart Windows Explorer

This often resolves UI glitches like the taskbar not appearing correctly.

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. Scroll down and find Windows Explorer.
  3. Right-click it and select Restart.

Disable and Re-enable Auto-Hide

  1. Right-click on the taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
  2. Scroll down and click Taskbar behaviors.
  3. Uncheck Automatically hide the taskbar, wait a few seconds, then re-check it.

Check for Display Scaling Issues

Sometimes, incorrect scaling can cause UI elements to misbehave.

  1. Go to Settings > System > Display.
  2. Under Scale & layout, ensure the Scale is set to 100% or 125% (recommended).
  3. Sign out and sign back in if prompted.

Update Graphics Drivers

Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display issues.

  1. Open Device Manager (right-click Start > Device Manager).
  2. Expand Display adapters.
  3. Right-click your GPU (e.g., AMD Radeon or NVIDIA) and select Update driver.
  4. Choose Search automatically for drivers.

Alternatively, you can download the latest drivers directly from the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.

Check for Windows Updates

  1. Go to Settings > Windows Update.
  2. Click Check for updates and install any available updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
