OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-c0000 (343L3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

I have had my Omen 16 laptop for about 13 months now and overall am very disappointed with it due to two technical issues (one minor, one major) which, from looking online for nearly a year, seem to be unsolvable.

my first and main problem is that laptop shuts down with no warning and with no reason. it happens mostly when I am playing games on it. the game is not important because it happens in any game. but also sometimes maybe 2 out of 10, it happens even when I am doing normal usage from windows and different apps. I am so worried about this problem, because it is happening more recently and I am worried about damaging other parts of laptop.

the second problem is that sometimes, no matter in game or office apps or even web searching, the display freezes and I can do nothing to fix it. none of keyboard keys or windows hotkeys works and I have to hold power button to shutdown laptop and restart it to be fixed.

I have tested my laptop even on windows 10, but here was no difference.

my laptop is always updated in drivers and windows update.

For info, my laptop is an HP OMEN 16-c0020ua 16.1" Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 5, RX 6600M, 512 GB SSD , 16GB Ram.

I love the HP brand and I really need help to fix my laptop.

Any advice or help welcome,

Many thanks!

Is your graphics card GeForce too?

I have the same symptoms as you,
This especially occurs when executing a task that uses graphics card resources.

Even when editing video, the screen turns off and the keyboard does not work.

So I went to the service center and was diagnosed with a defective motherboard.

Hi, ...

No as I wrote it down before, my laptop specifications are, Ryzen 5 5600H, graphic AMD RX6600M , 16GB RAM , 512 SSD.

I have not gone to any service center yet, I am waiting for a good reply to know what to do with my problem.

First of all, if the BIOS and drivers are updated to the latest, as an ordinary person like me who does not have professional computer knowledge, I always try to reset or reinstall MS Windows if I determine that there is no problem after following the troubleshooting method provided by HP's customer support. I purchased OMEN after using a previous HP Envy product. I have been using ENvy for about 9 years and it is still working well except for the hinge part. Whenever a problem occurred with ENVY, reinstalling Windows sometimes alleviated the symptoms.
Have you ever tried reinstalling MS Windows?

Before going to a service center, I reinstall MS Windows and run several tests to find out the symptoms clearly. Then, I tell the service center about the symptoms.
