Hey guys, I've noticed a recent issue with some concerning CPU temps on a Laptop that's been excellently cooled for about half a year now, I'm not sure if this is an issue with Omen Command Center or if the Thermal Paste on the CPU is starting to give out. Before this issue idle temps were anywhere from 35C-45C for the CPU and GPU (with Comfort Mode enabled). Now the CPU temps sometimes hit the 60'sC while idle and the fans will ramp up and down constantly (still in comfort mode). I've tried Default and it seems to be ok, however, sometimes the CPU temp will spike to 75C without the fan speed increasing before returning to normal.  I've also noticed that while playing Cyberpunk my CPU gets dangerously close to thermal throttling in the mid to high 90C area when it used to peak at 75C. GPU temps have been unaffected and are still the same no matter what, but my concern for the life span of my device is starting to get to me.

Temps issue with Omen AMD version is surely something that HP or Windows should fix... I have this issue as well with my Omen.... But i noticed that the temps rise higher if i'm on plugged in...

So, what i've been doing so far is never use comfort mode unless i'm on battery... because when pluged in, Omen will try to increase its performance... that's why it produces more heat and makes the fan spin faster.... Default mode on Omen Gaming Hub is the way to go...

 

To help reduce the temps even more, you can try to set the power mode slider on Windows to "Better Performance" (middle position) while being plugged in...

The other thing that you can do is set the maximum processing state to 99%, and it will turn off the 'turbo' on AMD... but, please be aware the Omen can be a little bit laggy when under load or heavy program...

Unfortunately, my power slider was already set to better performance while plugged in. I definitely feel like an update messed with the power draw or something because the AMD model is touted for having great temps. And it really did for a while.
