Hello guys.

I mistakenly removed the thermal putty on my laptop and filled it with cooler master cryofuze 5 thermal paste, but now my CPU and GPU are getting too hot. CPU temps are around 100 degrees Celsius, and GPU temps are 85-87 degrees.

Now I want to reapply the VRM and VRAM with a new thermal pad or putty, and I want to know what I should use. Is a thermal pad enough, or do I need to use thermal putty? And what thickness should I use for a thermal pad?

I need your help and appreciate your help since I don't use my laptop to avoid overheating

Hi @Ahwan

There is no information about the brand, but the thermal pads are reusable, and you should only change them when you change the heat sink.

check that you have put thermal paste where needed and the thermal pads, see page 58 of the service manual.

My original laptop used thermal putty or according to its manual, thermal gel.

In the manual, it says I should use it as it was and now I don't know if I can use a thermal pad or not instead of thermal putty/gel.

It says I should use thermal grease for 1, thermal gel for 2 and thermal pad for 3. Is it necessary or I can use a thermal pad for both 2 and 3 areas?

the most convenient thing to do is what the manual says, of course you can use thermal pad on all of them, but it may not help the heat as much.
