I'm having some issues with a new Victus laptop (15-fa0000 series)
It works fine in windows 11, but I'm unable to get the Elan trackpad to work in several other operating systems. (FreeBSD and MidnightBSD)
From what I can tell, the touchpad isn't getting mapped properly in the UEFI bios and may be conflicting with the keyboard. It's unable to allocate an IRQ for it.
I suspect this is a weird bios bug.
I expected the wifi and bluetooth to not work, but the touchpad is an issue. Hoping to get a bios update that resolves some of these issues. On an older system, i might try csm compatibility mode to work around some of this but that isn't an option on this bios.
In case anyone else finds this thread, this is what isn't working on FreeBSD 12 stable:
Sound (although the nvidia gpu hdac is picked up)
Bluetooth (tries to attach but fails with an error)
Mediatek wifi (not detected and not supported by any *BSD release, linux has a partially GPL'd driver)
backlight on keyboard (no big deal)
brightness controls
On midnightbsd 3.0-current, we get occasional ACPI errors which sometimes cause reboots and seems to be related to powerd/power management. Doesn't seem to happen with powerd disabled.
Working stuff:
realtek lan
nvidia binary driver can find the 1650 (470 and 510 variants) (this does not seem to work on midnightbsd though)
keyboard
display
Untested:
hp webcam. it does detect and attach though
