Pavillon gaming 15-dk1419nf
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello there

I need your help.

I bought a pavilion gaming dk1 some days ago and i have a problem with my usbc power delivery.

I try to charge my notebook with my aukey adapter 90w but nothing happens.

The charger works cause I charge my Samsung a50 and my laptop for homeworking...

I have upgraded the bios f13 to f21 without success

Did anyone have an idea to resolve my problem ?

Thanks friends

It wasn't designed to be charged via USB-C. It requires a 200w power supply via the barrel connector.

USB-C port was designed for data and HP sleep and charge which means it can power out, but not inbound.

Thanks for the answer but I'm very surprised.

Have you a documentation about this because on the seller website it's mentioned that the usbc port is compatible with Power delivery protocol...

What seller is it? Do you have a link?

Of course

The seller is Cdiscount

Your documentation seems to be for dk0xxxxx but mine is a dk1xxxxx is there a difference?

Ya HP does that, makes me really frustrated. But the design and most specs are the same either way (minus the CPU/GPU used basically).

Tell you what, Ill inquire with the insiders and see if they can shed any light on the subject. If HP did change the rules on Power Delivery, They need to post the correct manual.

I dont know how long it will take, but I will let you know what I find.

Most likely if I know HP, if power delivery does go inbound for the new lineup, you might have to have an HP specific charger for it.

quick update, I looked through the HP list of compatible products that can be used for your laptop and no HP USB-c chargers were found. Ill see what the insiders say and let you know.

Sorry for jumping in. I tested 100W USB-C output on few machines (HP and non-HP) and I can confirm for sure 90W charger is too weak to charger machines which require 200W chargers. You can use 90W USB-C charger to charge your 200W machine when your machine is idle or off. I did post some bucket of water examples before.

Regards.
