Hello!, I've recently installed a new ssd since my previous boot drive (a pny ssd) already failed/died. And now as I'm installing things again suddenly my laptop froze and again got this uefi error thingy (see attached pictures).
This is getting very annoying, all i can do is type exit and reboot on bios to load defaults from which i didn't changed anything, and then this error repeats again.

Hi @Psilocybin360 ,
Thanks for sharing the details.
I understand how frustrating it must be to encounter recurring UEFI errors after replacing your SSD, especially when you’re trying to set up everything on your system again. Let’s troubleshoot this issue to get your laptop running smoothly.
- When the error occurs, does it happen randomly during operation, or only during startup or shutdown?
- Did you perform a clean installation of Windows 11 on the new SSD, or did you clone your old drive?
- Have you checked if your laptop’s BIOS/UEFI firmware is up to date.
Let's try these steps.
Check Boot Order in BIOS:
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing Esc, F2, or F10 during startup).
- Ensure your new SSD is set as the primary boot device in the boot order menu.
Verify SSD Health:
- Use tools like CrystalDiskInfo or HP Diagnostics to check the health of the SSD. If the SSD is unstable, it might cause random UEFI errors.
Disable Fast Boot and Secure Boot:
- In BIOS/UEFI, disable Fast Boot and Secure Boot settings temporarily. This can sometimes resolve boot issues with new hardware.
Update BIOS/UEFI Firmware:
- Visit HP’s support website, search for your laptop model, and check if there is an available BIOS/UEFI update. Follow the instructions carefully to update.
Perform a Clean Installation of Windows:
- If the issue persists, consider reinstalling Windows 11 on the SSD. Create a bootable USB using the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft, boot into it, and perform a clean installation.
If the issue continues after these steps, it might indicate hardware compatibility or motherboard issues.
Note: This could be because this unit is not compatible with your current OS.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
