@Kurumifps, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Downgrading the BIOS on your HP laptop can be a complex process, and there are several factors you need to consider. Here are some steps and insights that might help:

Compatibility Check: Ensure that the BIOS versions you are attempting to downgrade to are compatible with your laptop model. Sometimes, BIOS versions are specific to model variants.

BIOS Rollback Setting: Check if there is a BIOS rollback feature in your current BIOS settings. Some HP devices allow users to rollback to a previous version directly from the BIOS setup.

Secure Boot and UEFI: If your system has Secure Boot enabled, consider disabling it temporarily as some downgrades require this setting to be off. Also, make sure you are using the correct boot mode (UEFI or Legacy) as per the requirements of the BIOS you are trying to install.

HP Support Assistant: Utilize HP Support Assistant, which might provide firmware updates as well as guidance on BIOS management.

HP Recovery and Diagnostics Tools: Use HP’s diagnostics tools to check for any hardware issues that might be contributing to the lag and screen problems. Sometimes, these tools can offer insights or solutions without needing a BIOS downgrade.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Hey sorry i was on a trip. i tried the steps you gave me but sadly it didnt work out the way we expected to. I tried hard reset, reset cmos  and lastly the  bios image recovery using usb pendrive. (the last step didnt workout since my bios  doesnt allow to downgrade remember??  ) it just flashes the same version (the current installed bios on laptop gets recovered and not the usb one) is there any possible chance to downgrade.
