Hello
I recently purchased Omen 16t-wf100 (or 16wf1000 as shown on the HP website )
, i7 14700HX,RTX 4050.
I Tried to customize colors of my keyboard (currently I only have white RGB) from omen gaming hub , when I installed and opened the light studio I couldn't use it and there was this error "Unfortunately this device is not supported by OMEN Light studio."
i'd really appreciate it if someone helps .

Hi @Murari7,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error "Unfortunately, this device is not supported by OMEN Light Studio" typically indicates that the OMEN Light Studio software does not recognize the hardware as compatible for advanced RGB customization. Here’s a step-by-step guide to resolve or understand the situation.
Confirm Compatibility
- Check your device model: Not all OMEN laptops support advanced RGB customization. Some models only have single-zone RGB lighting or no RGB lighting at all.
- Refer to specifications: Look at your laptop's specifications on the HP website or in the user manual to confirm whether your keyboard supports multi-zone RGB.
Update OMEN Gaming Hub
- Ensure the OMEN Gaming Hub is updated to the latest version:
- Open the Microsoft Store.
- Search for OMEN Gaming Hub.
- Update it if available.
Check OMEN Light Studio Installation
- OMEN Light Studio is an add-on for the OMEN Gaming Hub. Make sure it’s properly installed:
- Open OMEN Gaming Hub.
- Navigate to the Light Studio section.
- If prompted, download and install the Light Studio add-on.
Update Drivers and Firmware
- BIOS Update: Ensure your OMEN 16 laptop is running the latest BIOS. Visit HP's support page and search for your device model to download updates.
- HP System Event Utility: Install or update this utility, as it manages hardware communication for features like RGB lighting.
- Keyboard Firmware Update: Check for specific updates related to your keyboard from the HP website.

Verify Windows Settings
- Ensure OMEN RGB Service is running:
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
- Under the Services tab, look for "OMEN RGB Service."
- If it’s not running, right-click and start the service.
Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub
If none of the above steps work, a clean reinstall of OMEN Gaming Hub might help:
- Uninstall OMEN Gaming Hub and OMEN Light Studio.
- Delete the OMEN Gaming Hub folder in:
- C:\ProgramData\HP\OMEN Gaming Hub
- Restart your system.
- Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub from the Microsoft Store.
Use Alternatives (if unsupported)
If your device is indeed incompatible with OMEN Light Studio:
- Use the basic RGB customization available in OMEN Gaming Hub, such as switching between predefined effects or colors (if supported).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
